Healing through Art & Movement

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul. The body says what words cannot”.
–Martha Graham

“This body is a rare and precious gift”.   Buddha

Our body is the residence of our soul, life time after life time.
We dance to be fully embodied – physically, emotionally, and mindfully
It means being completely in the present, in our body.
Present for anything and everything: loving, losing, colliding, learning, creating, connecting, and feeling.

To be embodied is to come to be alive to All senses. To learn to stay with our experience whether it’s good or bad.  To allow whatever comes up.

When we live completely embodied, we are fluid, flexible, and free to experience all that shows up for us. Of the wild and subtle moments that go by, the ones that are heavenly and the ones that drop us to our knees.

To completely experience the highs and the lows. To be grounded within ourselves and empowered to live life upfront. Our body movements creating energy and centeredness like a potter on the wheel.

Art as therapy is the ability for a person to express his/her feelings through any form of art. Art therapy typically utilizes forms of art…such as painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, or a variety of other types of visual art expression.
Art helps connect to one’s feelings, especially when talking and reasoning is not a preferred choice. Art is a favored medium for working with children. Persons in addictive behavior & depression find art to be a good medium of expression.

Trauma survivors are comfortable to release pain and trauma through the soothing, gradual process of color through art.
